TORONTO, ON – The Interior Design Show (IDS), now in its 16th year, brings together the newest & most innovative design at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The Opening Night Party on January 23, 2014 is a ‘must’ event for international, national and local industry movers and shakers.
A fun night of food, drinks and entertainment, with over 5,000 partygoers starting their IDS experience. Music and entertainment appearing at the Opening Night Party includes DJ Vinny Gruvhunter, Julie McKnight, DJ jojoflores, Dominic Boudreau, Teeloo’s Kitchen and BELLOSOUND. In front of centre stage El Catrin Distileria featured their signature guacamole, and salsa which paired well with sweet, fresh oysters from Pure Spirits Oyster House and Grill.
The main bar featured cocktails made with Luksusowa Vodka but if you preferred a smoother choice, Alsolut Elyx paired with pomegranate juice was worth the wait in line. Across the aisle, a slider from Burgershoppe was a quick and fulfilling bite. El Cabalitto Tequila Bar offered a fresh ceviche which paired well with a Mill St. beer. Unfortunately I discovered one of my favourite caterers, the Food Dudes at the end of the evening when the dudes were out of food!
Miele always have an innovative way of exhibiting their appliances with chefs creating samples from their kitchens. A small gift of rose scented macaroons at the end was a real treat! KORHANI homes exhibit took visitors on a spectacular, interactive and unusual journey with Kirsten Korhani, chief designer and creative director of the company. Of course if you had time to stop eating and drinking, one could preview the other IDS exhibits. After all, it is more than just a party, it’s the total design experience!
