Celebrating Nelson Mandela: The Giants of Africa 2015


TORONTO, ONT – The 2nd Annual ‘Celebrating Nelson Mandela: The Giants of Africa 2015’ Event was held in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre home of the Toronto Raptors Basketball Team and before the home team Raptors took on the undefeated Golden State Warriors.

The Red Carpeted Event featured a who’s who of the sports world including International Soccer Star Didier Drogba, WNBA Star Ruth Riley, Raptors President Masai Ujiri, Carol Tshabalala, NBA Africa’s Amadou Fall, NBA Legends Isiah Thomas and Bob Lanier, Model Winnie Harlow, Singer Jully Black and Toronto Raptor Bismack Biyombo making an appearance before the game dressed in his Raptors warm up gear and sandals.

Giants of Africa’s Mission

Giants of Africa’s Mission is to use Basketball as a means to educate and enrich the lives of the youth of Africa. They aim to provide quality facilities, coaching and instruction while enhancing the growth of the game of basketball within Africa. The strive to create a pathway for the youth to use the game to create opportunity to better their lives with education as its foundation. Basketball as a tool.
